An Update is in Order.

It's a Friday night and I'm blogging between reading and online shopping for bumper stickers.
I'm not even going to pretend I should be in high school.

There has been quite the increase of new songs on my itunes.
Some of which include:

"Animal" The Neon Trees- This one I've actually had on there for a few weeks, but I think it's becoming the song most often played on my ipod. There is something about it that gets my heart racing, and it's wonderful.

"Arrest This Heart" Hungry Kids of Hungary- Contrary to their band's name, they are actually from Australia. I heard them earlier this week, and I've been listening to a bunch of their songs and I love them all. One of their songs sounds so similar to Vampire Weekend that I almost didn't believe it wasn't them.

"Billionaire" Travie Mccoy- Yes, I'm not ashamed to give into this pop indulgence. For those of you who've forgotten, Travie Mccoy used to be in Gym Class Heroes. I just think it's incredibly catchy and it doesn't hurt that it's played on z100 every five minutes.

"Lay Me Down" Dirty Heads ft. Rome- The only thing I can say about this song is it reminds me of pirates and sunshine. Find me a person who doesn't like those two things. Seriously.

"My Chick Bad" Ludacris- This is one of those songs that when it comes on and I'm on the treadmill I literally get this swagger that could potentially be embarrassing, if I didn't feel so awesome.

On a side note, I've lived here for almost ten years and I just found out there is a 7-11 in Orchards. All this time I've secretly hated Battle Ground for not having anywhere to buy a Slurpee. Well, low and behold there is one right by my gym. Hot damn.

I'm not sure whether this counts as creepy or flattering (that is a very fine line my friend) but I'm becoming increasingly better at taking pictures of boys without them knowing.
If you were to grab my phone right now I'm sure you would find at least 20 pictures of boys who are oblivious to my paparazzi capabilities.
Although when I was at the gym the other night there was a guy who did lunges (quite possibly the funniest stretch ever) and then hopped on the treadmill next to me.
I thought he was sort of cute and we had that weird gym-eye-contact-glance thing, but I wanted to send a picture of him to my friend so I got on the machine behind him.
And since my ipod was up really loud I didn't hear the camera noise on my phone that I forgot to turn off while I took a picture of him.
But thankfully he didn't look back until a few minutes after the damage was done.
I'm still hoping his treadmill was too loud to hear the sound of someone lurking behind him.

Since I've never had a boyfriend I've had plenty of time to compile a list of qualities I would love in one. If ever there happens to be a boy with every aspect on this list, then I may drop dead from love at first sight.

-A sense of humor. I tend to appreciate nerdy, offbeat, or sarcastic humor. But can you go wrong with sexual innuendoes? No, no you cannot.

-The right amount of awkwardness. Perhaps it's not the most common trait to admire, but I think awkwardness is just downright adorable.

-The ability to spell correctly and use proper punctuation. This one is surprisingly high on my list, but I really have a hard time letting it go. There is no harm in spellcheck.

-Being a gentleman. I don't know if boys are aware just how sweet manners are. I think I melt a little bit anytime I see a boy open a door.

-Being quirky. This probably belongs in the awkward category, but I tend to fall for boys with adorable little mannerisms or attributes.

-A love of life. A pessimistic boyfriend simply isn't in the cards for me.

There are plenty more things I can add to that list (oh, like a great taste in music) but I think it's a good start.

I need to wear my retainer more often.
As much as I enjoy having straight teeth, I'm incredibly in love with crooked teeth on boys.
I don't know what that's about, but it's so cute.

I think I'm done with writing for this evening.
Family Guy isn't going to watch itself, now is it?

I was literally laughing out loud while reading your story about the gym - interesting stuff like that never happens to me!

And your list of traits makes me smile, because mine is a lot like that, even though it has one very obvious different requirement. :D

And, I don't know why, but some part of me doesn't like guys holding doors open for me, especially when I'm really far away from it. I don't know, it might be my feminist streak that thinks "I'm able to open my own door, thank you very much."
